Christian Faith Worship Center's Pastor to Release New Book; Church to Celebrate 2nd Anniversary
 
The public is invited to Christian Faith Worship Center's "2nd Year Building Celebration," 10 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 29.
 
God has blessed this ministry so much and through Him, together born-again believers have built not only a new sanctuary, but a place for believers to worship together no matter their color or creed. A sign in the front of the church says, "This Church is For All People, So is Jesus."
 
Equally, importantly Pastor Troy Evans, Sr. will be releasing his first-ever book "Overcoming a Lukewarm Spirit." It takes readers first on a journey of self-evaluation and ends with solutions to help born-again believers achieve victory in every area of their lives. The book was published by Visions Publishing, LLC.
 
Pastor Evans will be sharing the gospel during the morning service with his signature simplistic teaching that draws believers to understanding which leads to the manifestation of the blessings of God. The dance team will perform and Royal Poetic Family will entertain with songs off their upcoming album.

Excerpt from "Overcoming a Lukewarm Spirit"
 

Lukewarm simply put means indifference, lack of interest, or half-heartedness. It's being neither hot nor cold, lacking conviction and enthusiasm. A lukewarm person isn't someone God can use. Jesus had exceedingly great convictions. Sinless, full of love and compassionate, He died on the cross to redeem mankind.
 

So God expects believers to be on fire, excited, and diligent about kingdom business. It's about being zealous and careful nature in one's actions and work. How else will born-again believers be able to fulfill the great commission - go ye therefore into all the world preaching the gospel?
 

The Bible clearly tells us in 2 Corinthians 13:5 to "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves..." It's important that you look at your life. What's happening to the body of Christ is that a lot of people are in church, but they are not in faith. The Holy Spirit dwells in us to teach and to guide us in the ways of the kingdom. We all know that without faith it is impossible to please God for they that come unto Him must believe that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him, Hebrews 11:6.
 

Though we can recite that Scripture, how many of us are actually living it, breathing it, and abiding by it?
 

Unfortunately, religion has perverted and distorted the truth of God's Word. For instance, time and time again I see people coming to church without their Bibles.
 

Students don't go to school without their books. But Christians seem to think it is okay to come to church absent of themost important book they should ever read - the Bible. No other book contains so many promises for positive change and growth in all areas of your life. God is concerned about everything that pertains to you.
 

But if you don't value your Bible, you don't know that and I guarantee there is no change in your life. The Bible says, the highest form of worship is obedience. You have to receive instructions in order to obey. So the only thing people absent of the Word have is an opinion. But the funniest thing is to listen to those who have an opinion of a story they've never read.
